Mary Joy Dean Breton's father, an English immigrant, worked as a decorator for the Andrews Hotel in Minneapolis before the depression. When the stock market crashed, the hotel's management was forced to cut jobs, and Mr. Dean was without work. This photograph shows the hotel lobby in the more prosperous days of the 1920s.
