Minnesota's Greatest Generation

Grand Portage Arrowhead 4-H Club

The Grand Portage Arrowhead 4-H Club, pictured here in a 1939 photograph, offered 4-H activities to local Ojibwe children. The Cook County Extension Service worked with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to offer project work in connection with school work. Like all 4-H clubs, the Arrowhead Club participated in the annual county fair, earning a total of $89.25 in prize money in 1939.
