Young men entering the Civilian Conservation Corps often found their new, communal style of living a challenge. Housed in barracks that would accommodate up to 50 men, enrollees had a strict set of military-style rules to follow. This included keeping their living quarters neat and clean, and bunks made up to exacting standards.
