Minnesota's Greatest Generation

Anne Bosanko Green Letters

Families on the home front wrote often to their boys and girls in the military during World War II, and received many letters in return. Anne Bosanko Green, a WAC serving stateside, collected her family's correspondence from her service years (1944-1946), and donated them to the Minnesota Historical Society.

The selection of letters featured here reflect the warmth and humor shared by this close-knit family.  Transcripts of Select Letters

More of the Bosanko family's wartime letters can be found in Ms. Green's compilation, One Woman's War: Letters Home from the Women's Army Corps, 1944-1946, published by the Minnesota Historical Society Press in 1989.
