Cant hook

Cant hooks and peaveys are essentially the same tool used to handle logs. The differences are in their tips. You can see that this cant hook has a blunt tip that lines up evenly with the adjustable hook. This flat edge protects a log and makes it easier to rotate but more difficult to handle a log when moving it from one place to another.
