Large enameled coffeepots, like this one, were needed to brew enough coffee to supply a thirsty threshing crew. Made of iron with a porcelain enamel finish, enameled kitchenware was first manufactured in Europe in the 1870s. It's durability made it a popular choice for farm kitchens.
