The canteen, located in the recreation building of each Civilian Conservation Corps camp, provided a place for the young men to wind down after a long day in the forest or fields. Snacks could be purchased at the canteen using coupons from books issued by the camp officials, like those pictured. John Buskowiak (1922-) used these coupon books while serving in the CCC in Plainview and Lake City.
