"Arrived safely" card received by William L. Anderson's mother

The necessity for keeping the movements of troops and supplies a secret during the war left families on the home front wondering about the whereabouts and safety of their sons and daughters in the service. The War Department sent cards like this one, signed by the service person, to reassure their families of their safe arrival at undisclosed locations.
