Minnesota's Greatest Generation

Emily Day with her children on the steps of their Richfield home

The Day family moved into their home in Richfield in 1949, just a few months after their third child, Mary, was born. Emily Day took time out to pose with Sally (left), Mary, and Tom (right) on the steps of their new home.

Note the wide open space behind the family in this photograph. Emily remembered that their home at 74th and Clinton Avenue South was one of the first in the area, and that a farm stood just across the street.
