Minnesota's Greatest Generation

Pennant - "Minnesota State Fair/St. Paul,"

The first Minnesota State Fair was held in 1859, the year after Minnesota acheived statehood. The "Great Minnesota Get-Together" has been an annual event ever since, with only limited exceptions: during the Civil War and Dakota Conflict, the 1893 Columbian Exposition, World War II, and the 1946 Minnesota polio epidemic. The fair ran uninterupted during the economic difficulties of the Great Depression.

This pennant was a colorful souvenir of a fair visit during the 1930s.
