Minnesota's Greatest Generation

Fairview Hospital, 2312-2316 6th Street South, Minneapolis, 1957

When Carl Platou became Hospital Administrator for Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, it was one of the smaller hospitals in the Twin Cities. Under his leadership, Fairview would begin the expansion that would eventually include seven hospitals and numerous medical clinics around Minnesota.

This photograph shows the original Fairview Hospital as it looked in 1957, shortly after a new wing was added.
