The Minneapolis suburb of Richfield grew at a phenomenal rate following World War II. The village officials produced a brochure entitled, "Highlights of Richfield in 1954", which boasted of 6,500 homes built between 1945 and 1954, and of 740.5% increase in population during the same years that elevated the community to the fifth largest in the state.
