When the United States entered World War II home front industries answered the call by re-equipping plants for production of war materiel. The Ford plant in St. Paul produced M-8's - small armored vehicles, like an armored jeep or a small tank. In this photograph, Ford employee Henry Bergum helps to assemble a motor.
