Don and Carolyn Frederick, cutting their wedding cake, 1946

Carolyn Johnson was living at Don Frederick's mother's boarding house, known as "the Girls' Club," on Park Avenue in Minneapolis when Don returned from the war. The two fell in love and were married on September 14, 1946.

This photograph was taken as the couple cut their wedding cake. The reception was held at the Girls' Club boarding house.
