The large glider aircraft built in Minnesota during World War II were used to transport both troops and vehicles. This photograph shows a jeep emerging from the open door of a glider.
The CG-4A glider could carry thirteen fully-equipped men or a jeep. The larger CG-13A could accommodate thirty troops or a light truck.
