V-J day celebrations reached a fever pitch as Americans from coast to coast cast off the shadows of war and looked forward to peace. Anne Bosanko Green, stationed at Birmingham General Hospital in Van Nuys, California, heartily joined in the celebration, as evidenced by her letter to her parents, written on August 14, 1945.
