Eye-witnesses to local V-J Day celebrations reported that the streets of downtown Minneapolis were clogged with people, making it difficult for automobile and streetcar traffic to get through. This traffic jam occurred on Nicollet Avenue, near Donaldson's Department Store on the corner of 6th Street.
