Jane Freeman joined the Girl Scouts as a young child, and later dedicated herself in service to the Girl Scouts through membership in the Girl Scout Councils of Minneapolis and, later, Washington, DC, before serving on the national board.
In 1978 Mrs. Freeman was asked to serve as International Commissioner for the Girl Scouts, and enjoyed visiting Scout troops as she and her husband traveled around the globe. In the 1980s, she was elected President for two consecutive three-year terms. Mrs. Freeman is pictured here in her office as International Commissioner for the Girl Scouts in New York, NY.
