KSTP video: NAACP picketing Woolworth's

The Civil Rights movement of the post-war years began locally with quiet demonstrations like this one captured on film by KSTP television. Members of the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People carried signs in protest of the policies of chain restaurants in downtown Minneapolis that refused to serve African Americans.
