The post-war boom was fueled by the rapid growth of such Minnesota companies as 3M. Carl A. Kuhrmeyer, a product development engineer with the company in the 1950s, was interviewed by oral historian James E. Fogerty for the Minnesota's Greatest Generation project in 2007.
