CCC camp mess hall, probably Company 707, Deer River

For many boys coming from families struggling to get by during the depression, the Civilian Conservation Corps was an opportunity for a better quality of life. Former members of the CCC fondly recall the bountiful meals served at the camp mess hall. This photograph shows a typical camp mess hall in 1936.
