Minnesota's Greatest Generation

Boy looking at movie playbills in theater lobby

Minnesota's Greatest Generation was the first true "movie generation." Children in the 1920s and 1930s flocked to neighborhood theaters to thrill to the latest cinematic adventures. The boy in this picture is looking at a movie poster for the film Moon Riders. This photograph was taken as part of an advertising campaign for Farmers & Mechanics Savings Bank to promote savings programs for children in 1920.
