At one time 4,500 Civilian Conservation Corps camps dotted the American landscape. Today, only 26 camp sites remain. CCC Camp Rabideau, Company 708 near Blackduck, Minnesota has retained 13 of its 25 original buildings. The condition of the campsite earned it a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and, in August 2006, designation as a National Historic Landmark. The Forest Service has plans to restore parts of the camp.
