The construction boom that swept the outskirts of Minneapolis and St. Paul is evident in aerial photographs taken during the 1950s and 1960s. This photograph shows the intersection of Lyndale Avenue and 78th Street in Richfield about 1965. Note the neat rows of "cracker box" houses - quick construction designed to ease the acute post-war housing shortage.
