Minnesota's Greatest Generation

Rosedale Center, near Highway 36 and Snelling, Roseville

Rosedale Center was the third of the "Dales" fully-enclosed shopping malls built in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, opening to the public in 1969. Each shopping center was expected to attract other businesses, and all four of them succeeded in doing so. This aerial photograph, taken in 1972, shows the yet undeveloped area surrounding Rosedale.
