Synders Drug stores have been a part of Minnesota's retail landscape since 1928, when Max P. Snyder opened a cigar store in downtown Minneapolis. The store became a "drugstore" when it began to carry pharmaceuticals during the Great Depression, and was incorporated as Snyders Drug Stores, Inc. in 1939.
This photograph, taken in 1955, shows the Snyder's store in the Miracle Mile Shopping Center at the corner of Excelsior Boulevard and Wooddale in St. Louis Park.
