This softball belonged to Howard Blum (1915-2000), who excelled in high school sports. He graduated from Minneapolis North High in 1933. During the war, he flew 50 missions in B-17 bombers. Afterward he graduated from both the University of Minnesota and the William Mitchell College of Law. An avid sports fan all his life, Blum attended all four Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl appearances.
