With the end of the war gasoline and rubber were no longer rationed, once again making travel easy and affordable. Many Minnesota families eagerly looked forward to their annual vacation in the post-war years.
Then, as now, camping was a popular way to spend leisure time. This photograph, taken at the 1958 Sportsman's Show, shows a modern station wagon with a small tent mounted on the roof and a ladder for convenient access.
