Minnesota's Greatest Generation

Doris Shea and Errol Fox, ready for a dinner date, 1944.

Whirlwind courtships were all a part of the war experience for many members of Minnesota's Greatest Generation. Doris Shea and Errol Fox corresponded by mail for two years before meeting face-to-face on June 4, 1944. The couple became engaged on June 16th, and were married later that year. In this photograph, Doris and Errol are ready for a dinner date at the Curtis Hotel in Minneapolis.
