The renewed prosperity following the war enabled young parents to splurge on toys and clothing for their offspring. Dayton's Department Store had a sizable toy department. This 1949 photograph shows an impressive window display of toys for kids of all ages designed to appeal to the parents and grandparents of baby boomers.
