Just before the Thirteenth Airborne unit shipped out to Europe, Fredric Steinhauser was transferred to an Ordnance EVAC company, whose job it was to recover salvagable tanks and other equipment that were left behind during battle. This photograph shows Lt. Steinhauser's tank transporters in action in Germany.
